We Did It…..
Or should I say, Dubai did it…I am so happy and incredibly excited that Dubai has won the bid to host the Expo 2020!!
The excitement in the city is palpable and as the announcement was made in Paris about 30 minutes ago, I could hear all the fireworks displays in the city..unfortunately I couldn’t see a thing, but apparently the city has gone crazy!! I feel so proud to be part of this amazing city which has such a positive vibe most of the time, but it will go into overdrive after this announcement!
I am sure once everyone has calmed down, the reality will be that we will all have to deal with an even more frenetic pace in the city (and much more traffic)but what a great achievement for our leader, HH Sheihk Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum and his incredible team who put so much effort into our presentation for the bid. Without the vision of HH Sheikh Mohammed, none of this would be possible and Dubai certainly would not be the place it is….I feel so lucky to be living in such an amazing place.

Great Excitement…..
The UAE and Dubai in particular is buzzing right now with the imminent announcement of the host of the Expo 2020. To add to the excitement, the UAE celebrates its 42nd anniversary on December the 2nd.
The mood is really positive and almost everyone is convinced that we will win the bid to host the 2020 Expo…as HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum has said, even if we don’t win, Dubai will still grow and prosper at an incredibly fast rate but it would be SO GREAT if we did win the bid!! We certainly have the infrastructure, (our second major airport was opened recently) it is one of the safest countries in the world and we have numerous tourist attractions which would enthrall even the most jaded of travelers!
It would mean a great boost for my work too..more hotels would need to be built and malls will be made bigger and better than before…all this requires luxury decoration and I will hopefully be there to provide it!
I am holding thumbs and hoping for the future of Dubai, that we get the bid. We will find out tomorrow!

Here is another amazing film I found…This is part of the bid by Dubai for the World Expo 2020…it gives you a great idea of what Dubai and Abu Dhabi have achieved in the last few years…I think it’s wonderful….and yes, the city really does look like that. It’s scarily clean…after being in the UK for a few weeks and seeing all the aged buildings with moss covered walls , it was quite a shock to come back to the pristine glass and metal of this incredible city we live in !
