Arabic architecture…

I was visiting one of Dubai’s numerous Five Star Hotels a few days ago about some possible work, and managed to take some photos of the entrance facade while waiting for my car to be brought around by the valet.

While we have very few historical architectural buildings in Dubai, there are a few resorts where the beautiful sweeping curves and lines of traditional Arabic architecture are featured and Al Qasr is one of them. I love the facade and also the lovely soft shades of pink and sand…they suit the desert environment really well. It is a relatively new Hotel (built about 9 years ago) but has been designed to look old and weathered…I am hoping to get some work there for a couple of months, so I am sure there will be many more photos to follow!
